In a few hours Microsoft will host a new press event to introduce its brand-new Windows 10 devices, and the company is expected to unveil its latest developments in terms in wearables, tablets and phones running its latest operating system.

The event will take place in New York City and will be invite-only, so Microsoft will allow the press to experience the new devices first hand. The most anticipated products tipped to make a debut into the real world are the company’s new flagships, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL

The phones have leaked online several times, so we know what to expect from them for the most part. Well, before Microsoft has a chance to actually take the stage and talk about these new phones, NPU claims to have been tipped about the date when the new flagships will launch in India.

Microsoft poised to unleash new devices next month

According to them, Microsoft plans to bring the new lineup in India in time for the Diwali 2015 shopping season. The company will roll out five products in total, three new handset models plus two LTE variants of already existing devices.

Diwali usually kicks off in early November, so we expect the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL to arrive in retail shelves in the country around that time. As for the third all-new device, it’s the Lumia 550 that we’ve already talked about a few times.

According to word on the street, the Lumia 550 should make an appearance with a 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (unnamed model) under the hood. Microsoft will also throw in 1GB of RAM plus 8GB of internal storage (with microSD card slot support). There’s a 5MP/2MP camera combo on board as well.

Apart from that, Microsoft will also make available the Lumia 640 DS LTE (will probably land by the end of the month) plus the Lumia 640 XL DS LTE (could be announced this week), but availability is still tipped for early November.

With the new five devices, Microsoft hopes to boost its appeal in India, an emerging market that represents a lofty chance for the Redmond giant to boost its profits.
