14 DAY TRIAL // In the last few weeks we’ve been hearing more and more about Microsoft’s upcoming flagships, which we have come to know as the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL.
Both these phones will run Windows 10 Mobile out of the box, so naturally everyone is very excited to see them get announced. While we wait for Microsoft to come out and show us the new models, concept phone designer armend07 has taken the time to produce an interesting Lumia 940 XL concept.
As you can see from the images and video he provided (and which we embedded below), armend07 borrowed the diagonal and format of the Lumia 640 XL but made things a lot more elegant.
The concept he envisioned boasts a 5.7-inch diagonal just like the rumor mill has been whispering all of this time. That being said, the visual representations seem to indicate we’re dealing with a device that takes advantage of a polycarbonate shell.

In the video description, we’re being told that the Lumia 940 XL will arrive with a 20MP Pure View Rear Camera plus a 5MP frontal shooter, which is in line with what the rumor mill has been saying in the last few months.
The phone should make a debut into the wild with 32GB of internal storage and a QHD display, which means 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.
Under the hood, Qualcomm’s controversial Snapdragon 810 processor is poised to be pulling the strings, employing the help of 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 430 GPU.
In the clip, we’re also shown the fingerprint scanner that has been rumored to be embedded in the phone. Naturally, we also see Windows 10 Mobile being the default operating system and looking pretty sleek.
The concept artist envisions the phone to be pretty thin, featuring a 6.8 mm / 0.26 inch profile. He has rendered the phone in a bunch of colors including red, green yellow, black or white.
Earlier leaks that surfaced online claimed that the Lumia 940 XL would feature a metallic unibody frame, which is not visible in this concept. On top of that, we were told that the phone would reap the advantages of a USB Type-C and dual-role support, plus native pen support.
