The two new flagships will arrive in the US too

If we are to trust all the rumors that are swirling around the web these days, we're approximately one month away from the debut of Microsoft's new flagship phones, namely the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, both of which will come to shelves with the new Windows 10 Mobile.

But despite the fact that we're so close to their public launch, little is known about market availability, price, or specs, although we do have some technical information already thanks to leaks and other unofficial sources.

As far as market availability is concerned, a new rumor indicates that both the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL will arrive in the United States soon after their launch, and both AT&T and T-Mobile are expected to sell it.

According to a report by NPU, AT&T will sell both devices, while T-Mobile will only go for the Lumia 940. Sales are expected to debut in the first two weeks of November.

Public unveiling in mid-October

Both the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL are very likely to make their first public appearance during an event in New York, which could take place on October 19.

Previous reports on this possible event indicated that Microsoft was planning to hold a dedicated hardware conference in mid-October that would be used not only to present the new Lumias but also to introduce a number of other new hardware devices, including the fourth-generation Surface Pro tablet and the new Microsoft Band 2.

Nothing is confirmed so far, but chances are that these rumors are accurate, especially when taking into account the fact that Windows 10 Mobile is almost feature-complete and Microsoft itself has confirmed that it's now working on fixing bugs and improving the performance of the platform.

Windows 10 Mobile will be offered free of charge to all devices running Windows Phone, including those with just 512 MB of RAM (though some features will be missing because of the hardware limitations).
