14 DAY TRIAL // Pokemon Go and Snapchat are two of the most requested titles for Windows phones, and unfortunately for those who want to stick with the platform, there’s no confirmation until now that any of them might be released anytime soon.
But on the other hand, Microsoft says that it’s currently looking into options to make Pokemon Go and Snapchat available on Windows phones, though no details are offered just yet.
Posts from Microsoft engineers in the Windows 10 Mobile Feedback app and spotted by WinBeta indicate that there’s still hope these two could arrive on Windows phones, but the message published in this case should by no means be taken for granted.
Don’t take anything for granted at the moment
An official announcement from Microsoft isn’t offered in this regard, and those company engineers only claim that Redmond is considering its options at the moment, so don’t get your hopes too high on receiving Pokemon Go or Snapchat on Windows phones anytime soon.
“We have received an overwhelming amount of feedback requesting that the Store provide this application. The Windows Store team is looking into options with regard to the best way to fulfill this request. We keep you advised on any updates,” the response offered to the Pokemon Go request reads.
Windows phones users have petitioned Niantic to bring Pokemon Go on their platform, and until now, more than 50,000 users have already signed to support the request. In the case of Snapchat, this is quite an old saga that doesn’t seem to come to an end, with Microsoft users posting requests for an official app all over the web, but with Snapchat officials refusing to invest in anything else than the Android and iOS clients.
Without a doubt, seeing Pokemon Go and Snapchat launching on Windows phones would be terrific news, not only for users but for Microsoft too, as the company needs to find new ways to keep users on board, as it continues work on updates for Windows 10 Mobile.
