As expected, Microsoft has launched the highly anticipated Word Flow keyboard application on Apple's iOS platform. The application is available for free, but it's been released in the United States first.

We believe it should go live worldwide in the next couple of hours, so if it doesn't show up in your country, you should check back later.

Word Flow started as a Microsoft Garage project, and it's been available on Windows Phone for quite some time. The application is supposed to offer blazing-fast typing, as well as gestures and swiping support.

Just like most other keyboard applications, Word Flow is capable of predicting what the user is typing, and it corrects mistakes. Also, Microsoft states that the keyboard app intelligently suggests the next word in a sentence. Moreover, Word Flow gets better and better the more it's used.

According to Microsoft, Word Flow can also predict the names of the contacts if the user is giving it access to the Contacts category in the phone.

Arc mode for easy one-handed typing

Aside from these main features that most keyboard apps must have, Word Flow also offers users many customization options. For example, users can customize Word Flow background using one of the images included in the application, or use their own favorite picture.

Also, all the images included with the application come free, and Microsoft claims it will add new ones on a regular basis. Word Flow comes with a special Arc mode that allows users to reach keys on larger screens using just one hand.

It's also worth mentioning that Word Flow has been optimized for iPhone, but it supports English language only. Microsoft has yet to announce plans to add support for additional languages, but we believe that will depend on the success of the application.

You can now download Word Flow for iOS for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 9.0 or later.
