Only users in the Skip Ahead ring get it for now

Microsoft has released a new build for users in the Skip Ahead ring, and the changelog also includes a new feature that could be part of the final version due in the fall.

Windows 10 build 17634 introduces search in the Calendar app, which essentially means that users can search for past or future events using keywords like name, location, people included in the record, or simply words that were part of the entry.

“Events that match your search will be clearly visible on your calendar, while those that don’t will be greyed-out so you can find what you need quickly,” Microsoft says.

Searching in the Calendar app works for Outlook, Hotmail, Live, and Office 365 accounts, so it’s not supporting Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo, or IMAP calendars just yet.

Additionally, Microsoft has also improved the Cortana Show Me feature that debuted last week and which is supposed to assist users as they browse the Settings app. With this new build, Cortana Show Me gets voice command support, and you can use the digital assistant to help update Windows, check if an app is installed or uninstall it, enable Airplane mode or change Wi-Fi settings.

More changes and improvements

There are several other changes and improvements, as well as known issues, and you can check out all of them in the box at the end of the article.

One important known bug concerns the Microsoft Store, as the company explains that opening Settings and clicking links pointing to the Store would crash Settings. This is a bug that was first reported in previous builds and is expected to be addressed in a future update.

Windows 10 Redstone 5 is projected to land in the fall. Users in the other rings of the Windows Insider program will also get Redstone 5 builds shortly after the launch of Redstone 4 scheduled to begin in the first half of April.
