New build aimed at users enrolled in the fast ring

Microsoft has just released Windows 10 build 14366 for PCs as it is hard at work on finalizing the Anniversary Update coming in July.

Just like the previous builds, 14366 is specifically aimed at insiders enrolled in the fast ring and packs only a couple of new features because the focus is clearly on fixing bugs and improving performance.

This is the reason Microsoft is also kicking off a new Bug Bash that calls for insides to look for issues it previously missed, offering a set of achievements and quests to make the whole thing more exciting.

“Over the course of the next 4 days, we will also be publishing multiple Quests inside Feedback Hub that will highlight different areas of the product each day,” Dona Sarkar, the new boss of the Windows Insider program, said.

“We will be looking for feedback on each Quest, but you can also just use all the Windows 10 features and apps you are most passionate about. The goal is just to work together now through Sunday to get the best bug reports possible! We are cycling the Quests over the week but will be bringing them all back over the weekend for more feedback.”

Only two new features

As far as new features are concerned, there are only two of them, namely a brand new Office Online extension for Microsoft Edge browser to quickly access Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Sway Online and work with documents from the browser.

There is also a Windows Store update that pushes the app to version 11606.1000.43.0 and that is specifically supposed to fix bugs that users have been complaining about in the last few days. The Store stopped working on a number of PCs, crashed, or used way too many resources, becoming completely unusable at certain times.

The Anniversary Update is projected to launch in July, and with this new update, Microsoft is taking one major step towards the moment when it’ll ship it to retail users too. The hunt for bugs has started, so we’re almost there.

UPDATE: Windows 10 Mobile build 14364 is live too.
