This could be the “final” version of Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.63 to Windows insiders a few hours ago, but the company decided to pull it and stop the release after discovering a critical bug.

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has explained in a series of tweets that this build was originally received by only a handful of people, but the company then paused the rollout in order to look into the bug. A few hours later, the same build was again pushed to members of the fast ring.

“Sorry #WindowsInsiders for confusion on the new update for W10 Mobile today. During publishing of the .63 update we detected a potential issue with staging on deployment servers. Since we were partially staged, some people were able to detect the update. We paused the update to investigate, and ensure that everything was 100% ready. We’re now resuming the update and it will roll out to #WindowsInsiders in the Fast ring today,” Aul explains.

This could be the upgrade version of Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft doesn't usually release Windows 10 preview builds on Friday, so it's believed that the company actually rushed this new version to avoid more criticism from the community.

Some people were very disappointed that no new builds were released in the first week of 2016, and a few accused the company of breaking on its promise, after it had previously announced “faster” fast builds at the beginning of this year.

At the same time, there are rumors that Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.63 could be the upgrade version of the operating system, meaning that this is the one Windows Phone users would get when moving to the new OS.

And given the fact that it's currently available to Windows Insiders only, the company is now trying to fix the latest bugs before this version ships to everyone, which, according to people close to the matter, should happen sometime in the coming weeks.
