Work on the Windows 10 Creators Update advances, and only a few hours ago, Microsoft published build 15046 for PC insiders, giving them the chance to try out some of the latest improvements before they are released to everyone else in April.

In the meantime, however, Microsoft also decided to launch some new Windows 10 ISOs, this time for an older build, which makes it possible for users to perform a clean install and start from scratch from this build.

The ISOs published online today are for build 15042, and come in five different versions, namely Home SKU, Enterprise, Education, Home Single Language, and Home China. All of them are available in either 32-bit or 64-bit, so make sure you download the version that works for you.

Why do you need a Windows 10 ISO?

In case you’re wondering why a Windows 10 build ISO is so useful, it’s mostly because it gives insiders the possibility of installing the operating system from scratch, which is pretty much the best way to diagnose bugs and address any issues that might be caused by the OS itself or by apps.

Microsoft itself explains that insider builds could come with bugs, and this is perfectly normal since it’s preview software that needs to be tested before it gets the go-ahead for everyone.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Windows 10 Creators Update is projected to launch in April, while the RTM build is expected to be completed this month. Of course, insiders will be the first getting the RTM version of the Creators Update, once again for testing purposes, while everyone else will get it at an undisclosed date next month.

It’s believed that Windows 10 Creators Update would be labeled version 1703, which is a direct indication to its release date, with the first two digits representing the year of launch, while the other two standing for the month, in this case March, which is the target date for compiling the final version of the update.
