Microsoft DealWatcher is now available on iOS

Microsoft Garage has just launched another mobile application, and just like it happened so many times before, Windows phones aren’t getting it, as the focus still seems to be on iOS and Android.

Called DealWatcher, the new app is exclusively available for iOS users and, right now, there don’t seem to be any plans of bringing it on Android and Windows Phone, although an Android version actually makes sense.

As you could easily guess since its name says pretty much everything, the app’s purpose is to help you find deals, coupons, and discounts on some of the most popular shopping sites, and it all takes place on your iPhone.

“Finding the best deals, coupons, and discounts for your purchase can take up a lot of time, especially if you are manually using multiple web sites and mobile apps. DealWatcher, a Microsoft Garage project, helps save you time and money with a specialized search engine for deals,” Microsoft says in the description of the app.

Still in beta

You are allowed to easily search and browse for deals and discounts by brand, product name, category name, or any other keyword, but the app also provides filters to help you narrow a specific search.

There are also options to create a custom feed by defining interests, as well as watchers that monitor brands, products, or categories. Whenever a new deal is found, the app sends a push notification, so you’ll never miss a discount.

The app is still in beta for the time being, but you can register and become a participant in the testing program using this link.

Before blaming Microsoft for not bringing this app on Windows phones, have in mind that this is the project of Microsoft Garage, which is the company’s unit for experimental apps. Some of the apps created by Garage ended up being released on Windows phones at some point, so with a little luck, the same could happen with DealWatcher if you send feedback in this regard.
