New day, new iOS app published by Microsoft

Microsoft has just released a camera app exclusive to iPhones (sorry, Windows Phone fans!) that can automatically capture your photos with funny messages.

Called Sprinkles, the new Microsoft app uses machine learning to personalize captions to each photo, and the company says that it works not only for human beings but also for pets, foods or even coffee.

In addition to captioning photos, Sprinkles can also add stickers and emoji to photos, while also trying to determine your age and emotions by simply scanning your face - of course, a portrait or selfie is needed for this feature to work correctly.

Additionally, it can determine your celebrity lookalike and place hats, mustaches and other accessories on your photos when face detection is complete.

“Snap a pic and automatically get new ideas for witty captions or add your own quip. Captions are unique to what's in the picture, so try different things such as coffee, food, pets, and selfies! Have fun with face-detecting Smart Stickers that fit your face perfectly. Choose from hundreds of Emojis and stickers and find even more with a quick web search,” Microsoft explains.

No Windows Phone version

The company promises to add new stickers and captions regularly, while users can also unlock more content in Settings by adding their birth dates and letting the app learn more about them.

Microsoft’s Sprinkles app is obviously offered free of charge to Apple customers, and it requires iOS 9.3 or later. It’s compatible with iPhones, iPads, and iPods touch.

As far as other platforms are concerned, there’s still no word on a version that would work on Android or Windows phones. What we can tell almost for sure, though, is that Microsoft has no plans to release it on Windows 10 Mobile devices, as only a few of its apps that were developed for iPhones ended up being ported to the company’s own mobile platform.
