Here we go again. With Windows phones still losing market share and Microsoft remaining tight-lipped on its mobile plans, it’s obviously just a matter of time until even the most hardcore fans start losing their patience and begin looking for answers.

Some of them turned to Twitter to get in touch with Microsoft officials, all in an attempt to find out a few more details about how the software giant sees the future of its mobile platform.

Brandon LeBlanc, Senior Program Manager at Microsoft, responded to part of the criticism on Twitter, suggesting that more information on the company’s mobile vision would be indeed shared with customers, but only when the right time comes.

Microsoft has often been criticized for focusing too much on iPhone and Android, and in some cases for bringing new apps and services to these platforms first and only then to Windows 10 Mobile, but despite the disapproval coming from the Windows phone community, the firm keeps focusing on non-Windows platforms.

“iPhone not just a competitor”

Joe Belfiore, who at some point was the go-to person for Windows Phone, recently said that Microsoft doesn’t “think of iPhone as just ‘competitor.’ We have hundreds of millions of iPhone-carrying customers and we aim to support them.”

In his tweet this week, Brandon LeBlanc suggests Microsoft doesn’t want to rush things by any means, explaining that “if Windows 10 Mobile isn’t meeting your needs, we understand the need to switch platforms.”

“I think we understand the situation quite well,” he continued when being told that the more the company delays an announcement, the smaller the company’s mobile user base would be.

The next update in queue for Windows 10 Mobile is codenamed feature2 and users can already try it out if they enroll in the Windows Insider program. At this point, it’s not yet clear if this new update would land together with the Fall Creators Update for PCs in September, but if the company’s effort to keep devices in sync is still a priority, this could be the case.
