Microsoft's Hyperlapse application was released back in May on both Windows Phone and Android platforms, but Android version was only available in beta.

Over the weekend, Microsoft announced that Hyperlapse for Android is out of beta, so everyone with a compatible Android device can now download the application for free.

According to Microsoft, the “hyperlapse technology is built on more than 20 years of research in computational photography,” so Android users should be excited they will now be able to employ this kind of technology while taking videos.

But what's Hyperlapse? The new application allows users to create smooth and stabilized time lapses from first-person videos.

The Android application offers features like instant gratification and option to import existing video. With Hyperlapse for Android users will be able to create a hyperlapse of any video they have already taken with their phones, instead of moving to a special application and capturing a video just for hyperlapse.

It comes with support for multiple speeds

Basically, you can time lapse your experiences captured on video, making them funnier and enjoyable for you and your friends.

It's also worth mentioning the Android app features multiple speeds. For example, it supports hyperlapsing a video multiple times, at different speed rates, from 1x to 32x times the normal speed.

Also, users can take selfie lapses. Simply take a video of your face while skydiving or flying through the jungle on a zipline, and then speed it up. You can then share it with your friends on popular social media and video websites.

If you haven't tried out Microsoft's new app, you can now download Hyperlapse for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.4 KitKat and up.
