Redmond addresses the problem with silent update

One of the issues experienced by users in Windows 10 in the last two weeks prevents them from updating a number of apps and even launching them, with Microsoft remaining completely tight-lipped on this until today.

A company engineer has confirmed on the Microsoft Community forums that a store update was silently released a few days ago to address Windows Store issues, so most of the problems we’ve experienced lately should no longer be there after installing these patches.

“Microsoft is listening! We appreciate your feedback, and want to assure you that our Windows Store engineering team is continuously working to provide fixes as quickly as possible,” Microsoft engineer AlexR has said in a post today.

New store version

According to his statement, the new Windows Store version, which is 2015.8.3.2, was released “late last week,” and should bring improvements in launching the store app. In other words, if the store previously crashed upon launching, everything should be working fine after applying the update.

At the same time, the new version comes with fixes for download errors 0x803F7000 and 0x803F7003, which are both encountered by quite a lot of Windows 10 adopters out there.

There are several other workarounds available on the Internet to fix these errors, but it's obviously better to deploy Microsoft's fix and see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't, you can proceed to applying the suggested workarounds.

Additionally, this update brings the elimination of incorrect “reached your device limit for installing apps and games from the Store on your Windows 10 device” message, as well as general stability improvements that should resolve other crashes occurring when browsing the web.

Needless to say, if you haven't installed this update yet, you should really do it as soon as possible to make sure that you're up to date and the store works just as it is supposed to.
