We're just focusing on the business world, he says

Windows 10 Mobile is not here yet, at least not for Windows Phone devices, but the new operating system is pre-installed on Lumia 950 and 950 XL, both of which are already up for grabs across the world.

And yet, it's no secret that most Windows Phone users are very eager to upgrade their devices to Windows 10 Mobile and hope for more improvements in the coming months, as the existing preview builds are still buggy and lack some key features as compared to rival platforms.

And it's these problems that are making some people considering a potential switch to iOS or Android. Microsoft, however, tells users to stick in there a little bit longer because Windows 10 Mobile will eventually arrive, and it promises to do better in the future when it comes to giving a reason to actually own a Windows phone.

The “next year” promise

Chris Capossela, Microsoft's chief marketing officer, recently participated in the Windows Weekly podcast where Microsoft watcher Mary Jo Foley, also a long-time Windows Phone user, told him she considered a switch to Apple's side because she “abandoned hope.”

Capossela's answer was nothing more than a promise to all Windows Phone users thinking of jumping ship that the company would do better next year.

“I hear ya. We’re clearly very cognizant of our position in the phone world, and frankly we’ve done the hard yards to retrench and have an approach that, in this coming year, is very much about trying to satisfy our fans, and trying to have a great success in the business world, for businesses who want to buy phones for their employees,” he said.

It remains to be seen whether Windows 10 Mobile and Lumia phones will become better, but Capossela guarantees that “the more we get a big install base for Windows 10, the better off our phone is.”

And this does make sense. As more users move to Windows 10, developers can start bringing their apps to the platform to tackle the growing audience because, right now, the lack of apps continues to be one of the biggest problems of Windows 10 Mobile.
