The alleged Microsoft email confirming the release of Windows 10 Mobile this week

As we’ve told you earlier today, Windows 10 Mobile is expected to launch “in the coming days,” and a new report coming from China seems to suggest that an official announcement in this regard could land as soon as tomorrow.

While this is clearly exciting news for the Windows Phone community who has been waiting for Microsoft to give the green light to Windows 10 Mobile for many months now, it should be noted that there’s still no evidence that this report is accurate, so don’t take anything for granted for the time being.

A report published by WindowsLatest and pointing to a forum discussion, Chinese website ITHome, reveals an alleged email sent by Microsoft, which indicates that a Windows 10 Mobile announcement is scheduled to go live on March 14.

Rollout to begin on March 17

After the announcement prepared for today, Microsoft is expected to start the Windows 10 Mobile rollout gradually on March 17, with the first batch of models including Lumia 1520, 636, 638, 830, 930, 640, 640 XL, and 535.

This does seem to come in line with previous reports on the matter, as people close to the matter had already revealed that Microsoft was aiming for a staged rollout that would initially include just a handful of models, such as the Lumia 640/XL and the former flagships 930 and 1520.

Microsoft is yet to release any statement on this, and we really doubt that it’ll provide such information, especially since the company has remained quite tight-lipped so far on everything related to Windows 10 Mobile.

The operating system was projected to launch in “early 2016,” according to Microsoft’s own statements, so it would actually make sense for today to be the day.

Once again, note that this is just a rumor for the time being, and we’ve seen similar reports in the past too, so just don’t get your hopes too high on this unless Microsoft comes forward with confirmation.

Thanks for the tip, Vicky Mhatre!
