The Windows 10 OEM was sold on the Continuum idea

Microsoft's Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL won't be the only Windows 10 Mobile flagship smartphones available on the market, as at least one OEM confirmed the upcoming release of a high-end device powered by the new version of Windows Phone.

Acer Jade Primo is another flagship smartphone that comes preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box. The handset will soon be available for purchase in Europe for around €500 outright.

However, the Jade Primo was initially Acer's flagship smartphone powered by Android OS, not Windows 10.

For some reason, the company has decided that it's better to focus on the Windows 10 version of the smartphone before launching an Android flagship smartphone, TIME reports.

It looks like Acer was sold on the Continuum idea and decided that it can't miss the opportunity of being one of the first companies to offer a product compatible with Microsoft's interesting feature.

Microsoft might have worked its charm, too, when trying to sell Windows 10 Mobile to Acer. The bottom line is the Jade Primo will be the third Windows 10-powered flagship smartphone soon to be available on the market.

Acer has already demoed Continuum on its Jade Primo, so you can watch the video and decide for yourself if the decision to focus on Windows 10 Mobile was worth it.

The specs

For those unfamiliar with Jade Primo, here is a quick rundown of what it has to offer regarding specs. First of all, the smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Furthermore, the phone comes equipped with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It also packs 32GB of internal memory expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. At the back, Acer Jade Primo features a 21-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash and video recording.

The Jade Primo packs USB Type-C port, FM Radio, 4G LTE and a no-less-impressive 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
