The store fails to launch on a number of PCs

Microsoft has just acknowledged an issue with the Windows 10 Store, confirming that a number of users are indeed unable to launch it or are getting a blank screen when loading the app.

Only little can be done at this point, but Microsoft says that it’s investigating all reports and promises to roll out a fix as soon as possible. The only thing impacted users can do is send the company logs on the official forums (find out here how to do it).

“Recently, it has come to our attention that a number of users are experiencing issues launching the Store or the Store launches to a blank screen. We are actively investigating the issue, but we’ll need more diagnostic information to isolate the root cause of the issue,” Microsoft has said in a statement, calling for users to provide more information on the bug they are seeing on their devices.

“One way you can help us is by sending in diagnostic information and other feedback to our Windows Store engineering team, so we better understand some of the issues users are encountering in the field.”

No store, no app updates

Clearly, having an app store that doesn’t work properly is quite a big loss as Windows 10 users are not only unable to download new apps, but they can’t even update the existing ones.

With Microsoft rolling out new app updates on a regular basis, the longer the store doesn’t work, the bigger the impact on users’ PCs, so hopefully, Redmond will find the cause of this bug and will fix it as soon as possible.

For the moment, if your PC is experiencing the same problem, you could jump in and help the company with the information it needs because, otherwise, it could take longer than anyone would expect before a fix is provided.
