Microsoft is expected to finalize Windows 10 Creators Update as soon as this week before shipping the RTM to insiders the next one and to retail users in early April, but the company has until now remained completely tight-lipped on all these rumored dates.

And yet, it turns out that Microsoft has started showing the very first indication that the RTM is just around the corner, with a notification displayed in Windows Update on some PCs suggesting that Microsoft is very close to shipping the final bits.

“Good news! The Windows 10 Creators Update is on its way. Want to be one of the first to get it?” the short hint published in Windows Update reads. A link that’s placed below this message gets users to this page where Microsoft provides more information on the imminent release of the Creators Update.

“Thank you for your interest in being one of the first to experience the Windows 10 Creators Update! We’re finalizing the update and will be ready to share it with you soon. When the update is ready for your device, you’ll receive a notification asking you to review your privacy settings before downloading the update,” the page reads.

Joining the Windows Insider program

The website recommends users to join the Windows Insider program to be among the first getting the Creators Update, so the notification most often shows up on PCs where the stable version of Windows 10 is running and not on insider PCs.

Although Microsoft doesn’t say anything about that soon™ reference, the Creators Update is expected to launch for everyone on April 11, with PCs to be the first getting it as part of the rollout. Windows 10 Mobile devices should follow shortly after that and it’s believed that Microsoft wants to complete the release by the end of May.

Microsoft is likely to provide more information about its Windows 10 Creators Update rollout in an announcement later this month.
