Microsoft has just announced that the rollout of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is complete, with all supported devices now allowed to download the latest version of the OS.

Launched on October 17 as part of a staged release, Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is the fastest version of Windows 10 to reach 100 million devices, John Cable, Director of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery, said today.

Cable then goes on to praise some of the key features of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, emphasizing that Meltdown and Spectre security vulnerabilities are living proof that customers must always run the latest OS version and the latest monthly updates.

“We build the latest security technology deep into the Windows operating system to provide defense-in-depth features that prevent evolving malware and other vulnerabilities from impacting your device, and layer on monthly quality updates that help your machine keep pace with the evolving threat landscape,” the Microsoft official explained.

Full focus now on Redstone 4

Microsoft is also making changes to Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Pro systems that haven’t yet been updated to the Fall Creators Update.

Starting January 18, 2018, systems that are configured to receive updates automatically will also be offered the Fall Creators Update, except for systems that are enrolled in the long-term servicing branch.

Now that Microsoft has completed the rollout of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update the company can put the full focus on the next version internally known as Redstone 4. Already in an advanced stage as part of the Windows Insider program, Windows 10 Redstone 4 should be completed in March before the public release in April.

Users who are part of the Fast ring can already download preview builds with lots of changes, including Windows Timeline, a feature that makes it possible to return to a previous snapshot of the system.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update ISO images will be released by the end of the month, according to Microsoft.
