Microsoft Outlook finally gets Android Wear support

Microsoft Outlook continues to be one of the best email clients out there, and not only on Windows but also on Android and iOS, so it’s no wonder that the company is trying to keep it updated all the time with new features.

And today, Redmond has added one of the most requested features in Outlook for Android: support for Android Wear.

Starting with the latest update, which is now available in the Google Play store, Outlook also comes with support for Android Wear devices, which means that you can now read emails and manage them right on your wrist.

Not the first time when Android Wear support is added

Android Wear is becoming a more popular platform for wearables these days, and Outlook was lacking features that allowed users to control emails from their smartwatches. But this new update makes everything a breeze, as it includes not only notifications for new emails but also options to reply with a predefined message or using voice.

“This week, we're bringing the best of Outlook to Android Wear. Stop reaching out for your phone, everything is now happening on your watch. Check your Outlook notifications, read your new emails and reply with pre-set messages or voice dictation right from your wrist. It's never been that easy to manage your inbox,” Microsoft explains in a short announcement.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft adds Android Wear support in Outlook, though. As some long-time Android Wear users might recall, the email client previously offered similar functions, but the company decided to remove them in 2015 for an undisclosed reason.

So what Microsoft did with this update was to restore functionality that was previously offered but removed most likely because of bugs. And it goes without saying that the number of negative posts in the Google Play Store and blasting Microsoft for not offering Android Wear support played an essential role in making this latest update possible.
