14 DAY TRIAL // Even though Windows 10 is just around the corner, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Microsoft is all focused on the new operating system and ignores the other projects.
Actually, the company is preparing several other exciting products that will see daylight later this year, including the second-generation Band scheduled to launch sometime in 2015.
Details are missing for the moment, but Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s COO, has confirmed at WPC 2015 that Redmond is already working on the new Band, but he has refused to provide any other information regarding its features or the projected release date.
Microsoft Band is the software giant’s smart wristband that was launched in the fall of 2014 and sold really well, given the fact that it was Microsoft’s very first wearable device in a market that’s quickly growing and is attracting the attention of several other companies.
Band 2 already being tested
According to previous reports on the second-generation Microsoft Band, the company is already testing the device, but unlike the older model, this new one is supposed to launch in many more markets from the very beginning.
Right now, Microsoft is said to test the Band 2 in Europe as well, which could be a sign that the company is aiming towards an international launch that would ensure better sales from the very beginning. The first-generation Band was only available in the United States and Canada, with Microsoft saying that it only wanted to determine whether a global debut made sense or not.
It turns out that the Band is very successful, and the second generation has big chances to arrive in more markets from its launch, but any other details are yet to be provided.
