Microsoft has published a list of features that are being removed or deprecated in the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (also referred to as Windows 10 Redstone 3), as it prepares for finalizing the release for the September launch.

The company explains in a knowledge base article that this list is supposed to help IT pros prepare for the launch of the new Windows 10 version, though it’s worth mentioning that some of the features that are being let go have already been replaced by new ones in the operating system.

One such example is the 3D Builder app, which is being removed in the Fall Creators Update because Print 3D and Paint 3D already offers similar functionality. The app will continue to be available in the Windows Store for customers who want it, but there’s still no information as to how long Microsoft plans to keep improving it.

Microsoft Paint and Reader app on the list

Microsoft Paint is also being deprecated because the new Paint 3D is getting all the focus, while the Reader app and the Reading List feature are both getting the ax because the features they provide have already been integrated into the Microsoft Edge browser that’s being offered by default in the OS.

“This list is intended to help customers consider these removals and deprecations for their own planning. The list is subject to change and may not include every deprecated feature or functionality,” Microsoft explains in the knowledge base article.

You can check out the full list of features being removed and deprecated in the box after the jump, but it’s worth mentioning that some other items could be added in the meantime before the debut of the Fall Creators Update.

Microsoft is already working to finalize the new OS update and it is now running the final Bug Bash ahead of the public launch. Bug Bashes are programs that Microsoft runs with insiders and which help the company diagnose bugs and deliver fixes before new Windows 10 versions hit the production ring.
