Coming to enterprises as soon as this December

Microsoft used its Future Decoded 2017 conference in London to take the wraps off the Surface Pro with LTE, finally confirming that the device would become available to business customers in December.

A small update that was posted on the official Surface Pro page a while ago revealed that this model would go on sale in the spring of 2018, and despite Microsoft claiming that the December 2017 was still on the table, it turns out this reference wasn’t entirely inaccurate.

While business customers do get the chance to purchase the Surface Pro with LTE Advanced in one month, consumers would be allowed to order it until sometime in early 2018, with more specifics likely to be announced at a later date.

LTE support and that’s it

So what’s chanced on this Surface Pro SKU? Naturally, the LTE support is the big star of the show. The device features a Cat 9 modem and support for 20 cellular bands, and Microsoft says that the Surface Pro with LTE Advanced is simply the fastest laptop of its kind.

Other than that, the Surface Pro has the same specs, so it comes with a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with 2736x1824 pixel resolution, up to Intel Core i7 processor and depending on the version you choose, a graphics card which in the top configuration comes in the form of an Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640.

Pricing details for the Surface Pro with LTE Advanced are not yet available, but full details should be provided in the coming months as we get closer to the release date for consumers.

The device, however, shouldn’t be substantially more expensive than the standard version of the Surface Pro, which at this point is available from $799 for the model with and Intel Core m3 processor, 128GB SSD storage, and 4GB RAM.

The Surface Pro with LTE Advanced will be available in the same markets as the standard model, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
