It could see daylight as soon as the next week

Now that the PC version of Windows 10 is alive and kicking, the world has turned its attention to the mobile flavor of the operating system, which, according to sources, is expected to debut in a couple of months with new flagships.

Microsoft is expected to release new mobile builds for Windows insiders at a much faster pace than before, especially because the public launch is approaching and the company needs to fix any possible issue before this moment.

It turns out, however, that this week we won't get any new build, as Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has explained that the developing team is indeed testing some builds internally, but none is stable enough to be shipped to users.

A release candidate is being tested internally

According to his statements, a candidate does exist, but for the moment, the team still has to fix some issues before pressing the go-ahead button.

“I know many of you are eagerly awaiting a new mobile build. We have found and fixed a few issues that would be a blocker for some Insiders in recent builds in our internal rings, so we haven’t had one we felt was ready to go out to you since 10512. We have some good candidates coming through with those fixes, so after we run them for a while and ensure they are ready for you we’ll get them out,” Aul points out.

Windows 10 Mobile is likely to debut in October, with some pundits revealing that Microsoft is planning to host a dedicated event in New York, where it plans to unveil new phones running the operating system, as well as a new Surface tablet and the second-generation Band.

For Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft might not host a single launch event, but simply start shipping it to users across the world and focus instead on the debut of its new flagships. Both are likely to see daylight in October and are expected to go on sale soon after that.
