Microsoft has just announced a new Windows 10 Mobile build, confirming that it's indeed internally testing a new candidate that could be pushed to insiders anytime soon.

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has also revealed that the upcoming build will be in the 105xx range, which is a pretty significant bump from the previous build 10166.

A leaked screenshot that reached the web yesterday showed that Microsoft was already testing Windows 10 Mobile build 10512 in China, but there's still no confirmation that this could be the version everyone will get very soon.

As far as features are concerned, there's no info either, with Microsoft planning some pretty big updates, also suggested by the major jump in version number.

To arrive this week or next one

Gabriel Aul hasn't mentioned any release date for the new build, but it's been over a month since the company updated our phones, so everyone's now expecting the new version to arrive either this week or the next one, especially because the PC version of Windows 10 is now out and Microsoft can finally focus on the mobile sibling, as promised.

Windows 10 Mobile is projected to launch in just a couple of months, so it's pretty clear that the company must concentrate all of its efforts on getting the operating system ready in time for the grand debut. In other words, the next two months will be quite busy for both the company and its insiders, as several builds are very likely to be shipped to Windows 10 Mobile phones in anticipation of the launch projected to take place in October.

New phones will also debut in late September or early October to demonstrate the capabilities of Windows 10 Mobile, but as is the case of the operating system, Microsoft remains tight-lipped on these too.

Update: Windows 10 Mobile build 10512 now available for download.
