Now that Windows 10 for PCs is available for everyone across the world, the company can start focusing a little bit more on the mobile version of the operating system, which, according to various reports, is expected to ship in September or October.

Today, Microsoft's Gabriel Aul has announced a new Windows 10 Mobile build, explaining that it's expected to be released in the coming days, but without providing any other details.

Aul, however, has revealed that the upcoming release won't be 10240 because of what he calls a blocking bug, which means that this particular version cannot be released to insiders due to the problems that it could cause on their devices.

In other words, the next mobile build will be newer than 10240, and Aul says that the Windows team is now moving to a new branch for the phone version of Windows 10, so expect some significant improvements in this release.

Increased focus on Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft's executives have previously said that, once Windows 10 for PCs gets the green light and becomes available worldwide, the company will switch the focus to the mobile version, as more testers and developers from the Windows team can join the work for this flavor.

Windows 10 for PCs was launched on July 29, and if the company keeps its promise, the next Windows 10 Mobile build should bring several major changes, as more members of the Windows team can focus on its development.

As far as the release date is concerned, Windows 10 Mobile is supposed to be ready in approximately two months, so expect busy weeks ahead for both the company and its testers enrolled in the Windows Insider Program.

The launch is projected to take place in September or October, together with new flagships that would demonstrate the full capabilities of the operating system.
