Microsoft OneNote has received another major update as part of the Insider program, with the company now test driving a series of new features expected to be released to users in the coming weeks.

The new OneNote version allows users to recover deleted notes, and Microsoft says that this feature is there to make sure that you don’t accidentally remove a specific note or section. To recover items that you delete by mistake, simply open your Notebook list, right-click the notebook you want and click the option that reads “Deleted Notes” to see all your previous content.

Then, this version introduces options to graph your math equations, so you can simply write an equation on a OneNote page and then go to Draw >  Math to have the app assist you into drawing a graph based on the information you provided.

More improvements

Additionally, Microsoft has changed the dimensions of some UI elements to put the emphasis on notes, and the firm says in the changelog that this modification is based on requests made by users.

“We’ve heard your feedback about the inflated size of the ribbon, context menus, and page list and have reduced the overall footprint of the OneNote interface, leaving you with more room on your screen to view and edit your notes,” the company explains.

There are also new options to drag and drop pages and sections, but also to organize sections into groups, which should come in handy when trying to keep things organized in your notebooks.

And last, Microsoft is introducing new options in the Accessibility Checker to identify and fix accessibility issues in your notes before sharing them with other people across the web.

This update is currently supposed to be used by users in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider program, but it typically takes just a few weeks before it makes it to the production channel as well. In other words, retail users should get these features by the end of the month if testing goes smoothly.
