HTC’s latest Windows Phone handset, One M8, was launched in the US at Verizon Wireless less than two years ago. A few months later an international version made its debut in selected markets, but the smartphone did not seem that popular among Windows Phone fans who preferred Microsoft's Lumia high-end devices.

However, it looks like HTC is determined to continue to launch Windows Phone handsets in the coming months. The Taiwanese company is working with Microsoft for new Windows 10 Mobile smartphones that are likely to be unveiled soon, WMPU reports.

A job post from December 2015 mentions the partnership between the two companies. Moreover, Microsoft is now looking for a director of account management in Taipei, who will be working directly with HTC to bring new Windows 10 Mobile products on the market.

“In addition, this person will lead all aspects of sales and business development interaction with HTC, one of our top 3rd party phone device partner accounts. Being the HTC AM will have a heavy emphasis on coordinated strategy development with OSG, Marketing, and OEM.

“Impact must be driven through senior executive levels up to and including CEO level with the goal to build product portfolio that highlight focused user scenarios around our Windows 10 Mobile and Microsoft services combined with HTC’s devices, applications, and services,” reads the job post.

HTC continues to bet on Android

Unfortunately, HTC is now struggling to survive as its revenue is dwindling following negative results in the past few quarters.

The Taiwanese company seems that it's more focused on Android platform, as HTC plans to unveil its next flagship smartphone, the One M10, in April.

It's unclear whether or not one or more Windows 10 Mobile smartphones are still part of HTC's agenda. Perhaps the release of such a handset will depend on how well the Android flagship with sell in the second quarter.

Time will tell if HTC will have enough time to bring a Windows 10 Mobile handset on the market since the company is pressured by investors to come out with an innovative Android smartphone that would eventually lead to recovery.
