A few days ago, we told you that the Micromax-owned handset maker YU was preparing for another smartphone launch scheduled to take place on September 8. YU’s previous Yureka and Yuphoria models have been quite successful in the country, so it’s no wonder the company is looking to expand its portfolio of devices.

Well, in anticipation of the press event, several listings on India’s import-export website Zauba / Geeknbench have been seen online revealing information on the upcoming Yu5050 handset (as spotted at Tech Gadgtsz).

Unlike its predecessors, the new phone seems to be highly specced and will arrive with a 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (1080p) and a Snapdragon 810 SoC under the hood with a pretty underclocked 1.5GHz octa-core CPU.

The phone will be bundling Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB or RAM, like most high-end smartphones launching these days. We’re not told how much internal storage YU is willing to throw in, but given the specifications mentioned above, it should be at least 32GB.

Micromax's YU high-end phone coming soon

The Yu5050 will come pre-installed with Cyanogen OS 12.1 (based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop) and will feature 4G LTE connectivity. Quick charge is also included. The rumor mill has it that the Yu5050 will go on sale exclusively from Snapdeal with the price tag of $315 / €283. It’s the first phone coming out of Micromax with a Snapdragon 810 under the hood, so you might want to watch out for it.

But that’s not all, as alongside the premium Yu5050, Micromax will also unveil a budget model known as Yu4711, which will take advantage of the services of the Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

Like its high-end brother, the Yu4711 also comes with Cyanogen 12.1 pre-installed and will boast quick charge feature and 4G LTE support. We’re not told the price we should expect to see this model go on sale for, but naturally, we’ll know a lot more when the September 8 date comes.

Fancy a new Cyanogen phone? Then you’d better make sure you mark the date for Micromax’s event.

Update: A new leaked AnTuTu document suggest the phone should come with QHD display instead.
