Good news for YU fans, as the Indian brand is going to launch two new Android smartphones in the next couple of weeks. Both are likely to be priced aggressively to be able to compete with other devices in the same range, but for now, we only know what they will offer in terms of specs.

The YU5200 will be the cheaper of the two since the device is listed at GFXBench with a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Also, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

YU’s next mid-range Android handset, the YU5200, will pack 16GB of internal memory and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera. It will also include a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front, and it will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

The second YU-branded smartphone listed at GFXBench is called YU6000 and comes with a much larger 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Marshmallow could arrive as an update later on

Unlike the YU5200, the YU6000 will come equipped with a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, paired with a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

It will sport the same 12-megapixel camera on the back, but it will feature a more advanced 8-megapixel photo snapper on the front.

Just like the YU5200, this one will run Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box. When YU introduces these handsets, we expect the company to mention something about a Marshmallow update, otherwise they will not be upgraded.

We have yet to learn anything about the batteries powering these smartphones, but we can safely assume that YU6000 will include a larger one than YU5200.

There are no details about availability, but they have been listed at Zauba for less than Rs 10,000 ($150). However, this doesn’t necessarily means they will be priced similarly.
