Video game publisher Konami is announcing that the PC version of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now set to be launched on September 1, the same date that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers are getting access to the title.

Gamers can place a pre-order on Steam at the moment to also get free access to the prologue story, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

Fans will also get access to a unique documentary and behind-the-scenes footage, and they will also be able to use a Venom Snake emblem and a Mother Base staff.

Initially, the new Hideo Kojima title was set to be offered on the PC on September 15, but it seems that Konami has listened to the appeals of the community and has decided to move the launch forward.

Tomotada Tashiro, the president of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V, states in the official announcement that "We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers."

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is designed to use PC-specific tech, including the most recent graphics cards and monitors that can display content at 4K resolution.

The Online component is now delayed to October 6

It seems that the publisher was unable to get the resources required to move up the launch of the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to September 1 without affecting another element of the game.

Konami says that the Metal Gear Online experience will be launched on the Xbox One and on the PlayStation 4 on October 6 of this year.

The PC version is also delayed to January of 2016, which will probably draw some criticism from fans.

The Metal Gear Online experience is designed to allow players to customize a unique character and to then try and outwit other humans on the battlefield.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will offer an open-world structure for the first time in the history of the franchise.

Hideo Kojima, creating what is probably his final title in the series, has also promised a deeper story, smarter enemies, more options for stealth movement and takedowns.
