The third iteration of the Metal Gear Online experience, which is set to debut for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in the following months, has just received some impressive details thanks to clever fans who've datamined the game's files. Most importantly, it seems a beta version is coming soon enough.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has just been released earlier this week across PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 platforms. The new stealth experience offers a wide array of missions across two big open worlds. While fans still have lots of things to do, not to mention engage in the Forward Operating Base competitive multiplayer, others are looking forward to the debut of the Metal Gear Online multiplayer mode.

In case you forgot, the online experience is set to appear in October across PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and in January of 2016 on the PC. Konami hasn't talked all that much about the multiplayer mode, as it wanted to focus on shipping The Phantom Pain.

New datamined details leak about Metal Gear Online 3

Fortunately for fans, clever users on MGOLeague have managed to dig into the game's files and find references to quite a lot of things relating to Metal Gear Online.

First and foremost, it seems that a beta is going to take place in the near future, despite the actual release arriving soon enough. The trial has a level cap of 10 and starts players in a practice lobby until they find a match. Players can also select to join existing matches, create their own, or automatch like in Metal Gear Online 2.

There will be two teams, Solid and Liquid, five maps with different times of day, skills and perks, not to mention the ability to be a male or female agent. Four game types include Base, Rescue Mission, Team Deathmatch, and Team Sneaking. There's even an Ascension mechanic that's similar to the Prestige one in Call of Duty. A buddy system links up two players and lets them use a teleport system to reach their friend.

Lots of other details are mentioned, so expect Konami to make a formal statement in the following weeks.
