Nokia is definitely going to launch new smartphones this year, but how many and when they will be released on the market highly depends on the new found partner.

The Finnish company is looking for another company that will take over the manufacturing and distribution, as well as marketing campaign for Nokia's smartphones.

Basically, Nokia plans to license its name to whomever the company sees fit. The new devices will be designed by Nokia's engineers, but other than that there isn't really anything else that would tie these smartphones to the Finnish company.

Nokia is expected to launch at least two Android smartphones by the end of the year. The rumored Nokia C1 is one of the handsets that should arrive on the market in the coming months.

The C1 is a mid-range Android smartphone with a decent enough design. The smartphone leaked a few months ago in some pictures, so we know what the phone might look like.

A budget-friendly phone powered by Android OS

Today, another Nokia-branded smartphone was caught on camera. Smaller than the alleged Nokia C1, the unannounced handset seems to feature full metal body with two stripes on the upper and lower sides where the antennas are positioned.

The smartphone packs a rear-facing camera with LED flash, which is placed right above the camera lens. The device does not come with a fingerprint sensor, which suggests this is a budget-friendly smartphone.

Overall, Nokia's smartphone looks a little bit on the thicker side, but the final product might be slightly thinner than what we're seeing in these pictures.

No additional details on the Nokia smartphones are attached to these live pictures, but we expect a lot more info to emerge online in the coming months.

The Finnish company has yet to announce when it will unveil its first smartphone in a long time, so stay tuned for more updates on Nokia's plans for 2016.
