Today, April 17, 2016, Collabora's Emil Velikov has proudly announced the immediate availability for download of the first point release of the Mesa 11.2 3D Graphics Library for GNU/Linux systems.

Just a few days ago, we informed our readers about the general availability of the RC (Release Candidate) build of the Mesa 11.2.1, the first maintenance build in the latest stable series of the popular 3D graphics library used by default in numerous, if not all GNU/Linux operating systems.

And now the first point release of Mesa 11.2 3D Graphics Library is here, and it looks like it brings the same things we've told you about in our previous article. Thus, among them are a DRIRC workaround for the Warsow FPS game, various improvements to the Intel i965, RadeonSI, and Nouveau video drivers, as well as multiple VAAPI fixes.

"The first stable release for the 11.2 branch - Mesa 11.2.1 is now available. It fixes crashes in VAAPI, some build problems in Nine has been addressed, adds a drirc workaround for Warsow and resolves issues in the nouveau, radeonsi and i965 drivers," said Emil Velikov, a software release engineer working for Collabora.

Mesa3D 11.1.3 Release Candidate is also available for testing

While today's Mesa 11.2.1 3D Graphics Library release will start making its way into the main software repositories of many GNU/Linux distributions in the coming days, advanced users can also download the source archive via our website and compile the new version themselves.

In the meantime, the Mesa development team has also released the RC build of the third maintenance version in the Mesa 3D 11.1 old-stable series, which appears to be still supported, at least until Mesa 11.2 gets one or two more point releases. Details on the changes implemented in Mesa 11.1.3 can be found in the official announcement.
