14 DAY TRIAL // Collabora's Emil Velikov has been glad to announce the release of the seventh maintenance version of the stable Mesa 11.0 3D Graphics Library software for all GNU/Linux operating systems.
According to the internal changelog, attached at the end of the article for reference, Mesa 11.0.7 comes with a great number of fixes for meta, which apparently affected the Intel i965 driver, as well as various improvements to the Intel i965, Nouveau, Radeon r600 and LLVM (formerly Low Level Virtual Machine) video drivers.
Moreover, the Mesa 11.0.7 release disables video encoding for Radeon Stoney series of graphics processing units. In total, the new maintenance build in the Mesa 11.0 stable series resolves over 40 issues that have been either reported by users since the previous point release or discovered by the Mesa developers.
"Mesa 11.0.7 is now available. This release brings substantial amount of fixes in meta (affecting i965), some driver fixes for i965, nouveau, r600 and llvm. The video encoding for Stoney has been disabled, as it isn't working properly," said Emil Velikov, Software Release Engineer at Collabora.
Mesa 11.1 should soon land in the stable channel
As usual, if you're curious to know what exactly has been changed in the new Mesa 11.0.7 maintenance release, we strongly recommend that you read the attached changelog. In the meantime, you should update the Mesa packages to version 1.0.7 on your GNU/Linux operating system as soon as possible.
The Mesa developers are also working on making the Mesa 11.1 release stable and ready for deployment in production environments.
