Meizu is apparently working on an upcoming smartphone which was expected to be unveiled on September 13, but company representatives denied the rumors. The specs of the upcoming smartphone have leaked for some time now and they point towards an Exynos 8890 processor.

Meizu's upcoming Pro 7 smartphone might not be carrying this name, as GizmoChina reported that the smartphone might in fact come under the Pro 6s moniker. An analyst told GizmoChina that the smartphone could come with Samsung's Exynos 8890 processor, which was featured in many of Samsung's latest flagships, including the Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy Note 7.

Exynos 8890 comes with a 2.3GHz Quad Custom Core and a 1.6GHz Quad Cortex-A53 CPU and is coupled with Mali-T880 graphics processing unit. It has the capacity to capture and play 4K video and can display content on screens with 4K UHD support. It is without a doubt one of the most popular processors from Samsung.

Meizu Pro 6s could come with 4GB of RAM

Meizu Pro 6s could also come with a 5.7-inch display with 2k resolution and a 12MP rear camera, as well as a 5MP camera in the front. 4GB of RAM will be incorporated in the smartphone, which will surely make it a competitor to other flagships on the market.

The device could come with 32GB of internal memory and, most likely, the option to expand to more using a microSD card. Aside from these specs, the smartphone could also run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and come with the company's Flyme UI on top. Meizu launched the predecessor to the Pro 6s, the Pro 6, in April this year.

The report also mentions another Meizu smartphone with a MediaTek MTK 920 processor which will launch by the end of the year. The release date for Meizu Pro 6s is unknown at this point, with some saying that the phone might actually arrive next year.
