14 DAY TRIAL // We're still one month away from the Meizu Pro 7's official unveil, but the first details about the phone's specs emerged over the weekend. Unfortunately, the information is rather confusing, especially when it comes to the hardware inside the flagship.
We reported last week that the Meizu Pro 7 might include a powerful MediaTek chipset, just like its predecessor. However, new slides that are part of the phone's presentation indicate that the Chinese company could have other plans when it comes to the chipset inside the Pro 7.
While one of the slides claims the Pro 7 will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, another one says the phone will feature a Mali-G71 MP8 graphics processing unit, which is the same that's found on the Kirin 960 SoC.
Another indication that the Pro 7 could feature a Kirin 960 SoC is another of these slides that has the Meizu and HiSilicon logos written all over it.
Perhaps Meizu plans to launch not one but two completely different Pro 7 versions, or something could be wrong about these slides. One thing is certain, Meizu's flagship smartphone will pack a 12-megapixel camera that will feature a Sony IMX386 sensor (1.25 pixel).
Also, the phone packs 6GB of RAM and a fingerprint sensor manufactured by Sonavation. It could include either 64GB or 128GB of internal memory, but there might not be any microSD card slots added.
If you didn't follow our news feed, here are a few more details about the Meizu Pro 7. So, the phone is expected to sport a 5.62-inch Super AMOLED display that supports 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution.
Meizu Pro 7 will be just 6.4mm thin and it should be powered by the Flyme 5.1 operating system. It will bring mCharge 4.0 technology inside, which supports 36W that should allow the phone's battery to charge up from 0 to 100% in 40 minutes.
According to the latest rumors, Meizu Pro 7 will be officially unveiled on December 24, and it will be available for purchase for $395 (64GB ROM) and $455 (128GB ROM), respectively.
