It looks like Chinese companies like Xiaomi and Meizu are the ones that drive the smartphone market's trends since they can afford to innovate much more than other more traditionalist companies.

After the unveil of the mind-blowing Xiaomi Mi Mix that features a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, many handset makers probably thought that now would be a good time to announce similar products.

Meizu is one of the companies that are likely to launch a borderless smartphone in the coming month. A new set of images leaked from China, showing an unannounced Meizu smartphone with a borderless display.

The phone in these pictures is the Pro 7, Meizu's upcoming flagship smartphone that's supposed to be officially unveiled on December 24.

Aside from the stunning design, the Pro 7 is expected to sport a rather unusual 5.62-inch Super AMOLED display that supports 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution.

Meizu Pro 7 is only 6.4mm thin and comes in two versions: 6GB RAM / 64GB storage and 6GB RAM / 128GB storage. They will be available for purchase for $395 and $455, respectively.

There are no details regarding the chipset inside the Pro 7, but considering the predecessor is powered by a Helio X25 CPU, we wouldn't be surprised if the upcoming flagship includes another MediaTek SoC.

However, we do know the Pro 7 will pack a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and a weird 8-megapixel camera in the front, which looks more like a GoPro action camera.

The Pro 7 is supposed to be powered by the Flyme 5.1 operating system, and it will come with an Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor hidden under the Home button.

Although there's no mention of the battery's capacity, some of the images leaked claim the phone comes with mCharge 4.0 technology that supports 36W. Such a technology should be able to charge a phone's battery from 0 to 100% in just 40 minutes.
