Along with Xiaomi Mi 5 and Huawei P9, Meizu’s Pro 6 is one of the highly-anticipated flagship smartphones that should make its debut on the market in the first half of the year.

There have been many rumors about Meizu Pro 6, some of them a little bit too bold for anyone to believe unless they were hardcore fans of the Chinese company.

Specs aside, there was no information regarding the Pro 6’s official unveiling, but that’s about to change since Meizu’s CEO Zhang Huang has just confirmed the flagship will be launched on April 13.

The teaser image published by Huang on Weibo shows the back side of the smartphone, which features the main camera and LED flash.

It could be the world’s first smartphone to pack a deca-core Helio X25 CPU

One of the most important aspects about Meizu Pro 6 would be the fact that it will be the only smartphone to be powered by a 2.5GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor, at least for a few months.

Meizu and MediaTek have an agreement that will allow the former to use the latter’s most recent chipset in the Pro 6, exclusively, for one or two months.

Another selling point of Meizu Pro 6 could be the plastic OLED or P-OLED that the Chinese company plans to use for the phone’s display. Although rumor has it that Meizu will also add 3D Touch technology inside the smartphone, the information hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Furthermore, the flagship is expected to pack either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, as well as an impressive 21-megapixel rear camera that should feature a Sony sensor. Meizu Pro 6 should be powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and it could feature a USB Type-C port.

Naturally, the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, along with Meizu’s proprietary UI on top of it.
