14 DAY TRIAL // The highly anticipated Meizu PRO 6 has just been announced, and unlike previous flagships launched by the Chinese company, it will be available this spring.
The PRO 6 is a beast on paper, as Meizu has confirmed that the smartphone will be equipped with a powerful MediaTek Helio X25 chipset that accommodates a 10-core processor, paired with a no less impressive Mali-T880 graphics processing unit.
Despite previous rumors that claimed the flagship would pack 6GB of RAM, Meizu PRO 6 includes only 4GB RAM, but that’s standard for top-tier phones these days.
When it comes to the screen, the PRO 6 will rock a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It might be surprising for some to find out that Meizu’s flagship sports such a small screen since the previous model boasts a much larger 5.7-inch display.
The good news is the 5.2-inch display features curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, as well as a new feature called 3D Press, similar to Apple’s 3D Touch technology.
Interesting camera paired with a 10-LED ring flash
We reported to you a few days ago that Meizu PRO 6 might pack a circular 10-LED flash, but the rumor hasn’t been confirmed until now. The flagship features both an impressive 21.1-megapixel camera with laser and phase-detection autofocus, as well as a 10-LED flash.
Also, the smartphone packs a fingerprint sensor under the Home button, along with a rather small 2,560 mAh battery, which hasn’t been rated by Meizu yet.
Meizu has also included a USB Type-C port and dual-SIM support, but other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS with AGPS are available too.
There’s no word on what version of Android it runs, but it’s probably Meizu’s FlymeOS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
According to Meizu, the PRO 6 will be available for purchase beginning April 23 for $385 (32GB model) or $430 (64GB model).
