14 DAY TRIAL // Meizu introduced the MX5 in India in late June, but the smartphone has been hard to come buy given its low price and high-end specs.
Recently, Meizu India announced a new partnership with Indian retailer Snapdeal for the sale of MX5 in India. The smartphone will be exclusively available in India via Snapdeal for just Rs 19,990, which is about $300 or €255 outright.
However, customers who want to purchase the smartphone will have to register on the phone's dedicated website since Meizu MX5 seems to be sold out for the moment.
According to Snapdeal, registrations will open soon, so you will have to check it out from time to time or wait for the retailer's official announcement.
At $300, Meizu MX5 is a very good deal for customers looking for a high-end smartphone. The handset comes with the newest version of Flyme OS, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop platform.
Great camera and powerful CPU
Hardware-wise, the MX5 is equipped with a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helip X10 processor, which is complemented by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.
Another strong point of the phone would be the 20.7-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features Sony sensor, autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording. There's also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.
Meizu MX5 comes with dual-4G SIM card slots, but it lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion, so you will probably be left with around 11-12GB of storage. That's one of the few downsides of the MX5.
Furthermore, Meizu's high-end smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. Also, the phone is powered by a 3,150 mAh non-removable battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
For the time being, it's unclear whether or not Snapdeal will also sell the 32GB and 64GB models, or the retailer's offering will be limited to Meizu MX5 16GB variant.
