14 DAY TRIAL // Meizu has just debuted another budget-friendly smartphone on the Chinese market, and the company has even announced pricing and some launch details. The Meizu m3s is part of the Meizu m3 family, which was introduced earlier this year.
The device comes in two variants, and as expected, the difference between the two regards RAM size and internal storage capabilities while other specs remain roughly the same.
One variant provides 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage while the other has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Still, both of them sport a microSD slot for expanding the storage to up to 128GB.
The Meizu m3s features a 5-inch HD display and 2.5D curved glass protection, with 1000:1 contrast ratio while the brightness level can reach 380 nits. At its core, it hides a MediaTek octa-core processor with Mali T860 graphics processing unit. Then, also worth noting is that the phone draws power from a 3,020mAh battery and has a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.
Meizu m3s will come with a 13MP rear camera
Meizu’s latest smartphone has a 13MP rear camera that integrates dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, and f/2.2 aperture. The aperture is the same as on the front camera, which comes with 5MP. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS / GLONASS support.
The handset will run Android Lollipop 5.1, with Flyme OS 5.1 on top, and it will be available in several color variants, namely Gold, Silver, Grey, and Pink. The device is expected to boast an all-metal body, measure 141.9x69.9x8.3mm, and weigh 138 grams. You should also know that prices are set to reach $106 (€94) for the 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage variant.
The 3GB and 32GB of inbuilt memory model should cost $136 (€121) in China. At this point, international availability is unknown, but the smartphone is available on the company’s website and will go on sale this Friday.
