Chinese handset maker Meizu already launched the M2 Note in India back in August, but the M2 mid-ranger has yet to make its debut in the country.

Customers who prefer standard smartphones over phablets, even if the latter are price very low, will be pleased to know that Meizu M2 will be officially introduced in India on October 12, a new report claims.

Unlike the Meizu M2 Note that comes with a large 5.5-inch display, the M2 sports a smaller 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features DragonTrail Glass coating.

Even though there are no details on the price of Meizu M2 in India, the smartphone shouldn't cost more than $100 since it's already available in China for $95 outright.

It's also worth mentioning customers in China can choose from different color options, like Blue, Grey, Pink and White, so we expect the same color schemes to be available in India as well.

A pure mid-range Android smartphone

Moving on to specs, Meizu M2 is a pure mid-range smartphone that ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and Flyme 4.5 on top of it.

The handset is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, a Mali-T720MP2 graphics processing unit, and 2GB of RAM.

Also, the M2 comes with no less than 16GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Keep in mind though that the memory card will use one of the two SIM slots inside the smartphone.

On the back, Meizu M2 features a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front, there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Meizu M2 is powered by a non-removable 2,500mAh battery, which should provide up to 23 hours of talk time or up to 28 days of standby time.
