Meizu and Samsung have had a strong relationship for quite some time, as the Chinese handset maker often uses the chipsets made by Samsung inside its smartphones.

The latest flagship smartphone coming from Meizu is no exception, but the Pro 6 Plus is more than just a Chinese handset using a Samsung chipset.

At just 7.3mm thick and 158g in weight, Meizu's flagship can easily compete with any other high-end smartphone available on the market.

Hardware-wise, Meizu Pro 6 Plus seems to be a perfect clone of the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge. With the exception of the dual edge curved display and the advanced camera, Meizu's smartphone is pretty much identical to Samsung's flagship in terms of hardware.

First of all, the smartphone is packed with Samsung's octa-core Exynos 8890 processor and a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video recording.

The bad news is the phone's main camera does not feature the advanced focus and other complex functions the Galaxy S7's camera has included.

On the plus side, the phone boasts a large 5.7-inch AMOLED display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The powerful Exynos-based processor is complemented by 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal memory.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery and ships with Flyme 6, which is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Meizu also added more than 400 new features, including better photo capturing, along with its own AI Engine called One Mind.

It's also worth mentioning Meizu's flagship packs a USB Type-C port, a 32-bit audio DAC chip, a 3.5mm audio jack, fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE support.

According to the Chinese company, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus will be available for purchase in Asia and Europe for $435, starting December.
