Today, October 20, 2016, Softpedia was informed by Jide Technology, the team behind the popular Android-x86-based Remix OS operating system, about an upcoming device called Remix IO.

Remix IO is an all-in-one device that can be dubbed as a TV set-top box powerful enough to play 4K movies, an office or home PC, as well as a gaming console. Jide Technology exclusively launched Remix IO today on Kickstarter, and it's available for pre-order worldwide for only $99 USD (~€90). Best of all, Remix IO is powered by Remix OS, which is now based on the latest Android 7.0 "Nougat" Linux-based mobile operating system from Google.

“Remix OS was born from the belief that Android is the future of computing, yet with an awareness that it has the potential to do more. Android smartphones have dominated the market since its inception - with Android hitting 82.6% global market share this year - and now is the time to firmly put Android PCs on the map. The Remix IO is another step forward to further that goal,” explained David Ko, co-founder of Jide Technology.
