The story will deal with some complex themes

The developers at BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts have been very mysterious about the new video game in the Mass Effect series, and they have only offered the most ambiguous of hints about the kind of narrative that players will have to interact with.

A new survey sent out to some gamers by the team in charge of the franchise reveals some potential information about the future, with players on NeoGAF offering images with the questions the company wants answered now posted online.

The first question shows that Mass Effect: Andromeda aims not only to take players to an entirely new galaxy but also to make them the aggressors, the race that is trying to find a new home and impose its own dominion while fighting off resistance coming from an indigenous race.

BioWare and Electronic Arts claim that the game offers a new kind of universe that's filled with planets and that the open-world structure is seamless.

The survey also confirms that Mass Effect: Andromeda will have the player taking command of military-trained explorers and that a deep progressions and customization system will be offered for all of them.

The survey asks gamers if they are interested in playing this type of video game, and all the details should be considered provisional until BioWare delivers an official announcement.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will not be connected to Commander Shepard's saga

BioWare has made it clear that it will not use any of the characters or the locations that were featured in the first trilogy, although they might be referenced as part of the history of this new universe.

The company has also suggested that it intends to refine the third-person shooter and action gameplay of the series, with the new galaxy providing new ways to interact with both aliens and the environment.

It has been confirmed that the Mako vehicle for planetary exploration has been redesigned by the studio and will be one of the central elements of the new game, but that these sequences will be more central to the story.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will probably be launched before the end of 2017, and an official reveal will most likely take place during the shows that Electronic Arts plans to have alongside E3 2016.

BioWare is currently also working on a mysterious Star Wars project that might be focused on the new trilogy of movies that kicked off with the new The Force Awakens.
