Beyonce is reportedly eyeing an acting comeback as a superhero in the Avengers team from Marvel

This year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is the biggest hit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) so far, but the studio isn’t afraid to dream even bigger for the next 2 installments, the last 2 in the Avengers franchise.

So they decided they would bring Beyonce on board as part of the cast, a report in the British tab The Daily Star claims. She will join the team and make gazillions for Marvel, while also rebooting her acting career.

Beyonce wanted for part opposite Johansson, Olsen

That’s right, Marvel won’t offer fans a Black Widow movie as they’ve been requesting for years, but it’s not entirely averse to the inclusion of more female characters in the movies they already have announced.

Apparently, studio bosses have come to the conclusion that the only way they can make even more money after “Ultron” is by helping Queen Bey get her acting career back on track. This way, she gets the comeback she’s been dying for and they get to capitalize on her millions of loyal fans, known collectively as the BeyHive.

Beyonce will join Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and newcomer Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), with the next movies to focus more on the female component of the superhero team.

“We would love to have Beyonce on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel’s existing catalogue of comic book characters,” a senior executive at movie distributor Disney is quoted as saying.

Of the characters she’s being considered for, the report mentions Boom-Boom, Blink, Tigra and Hawkeye, but that last one must be some kind of mistake, since MCU already has a Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner.

A good way to make a comeback

Considering the source of the report, it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt; don’t get your hopes up yet, or contrarily, don’t get upset and start ranting that she’s miscast.

However, assuming there’s some truth to it and that Beyonce will be cast in either of the remaining Avengers films, you have to admit that she couldn’t have picked a better vehicle for her comeback.

It’s true, she was never as hell-bent as, say, Madonna to make a name for herself as an actress, but there was a time when she really did try. Beyonce’s last big screen outing was “Obsessed” in 2009, which was so poorly received it must have put her off acting for a good while.

So yes, “Avengers” would be an awesome way to make a comeback for her, and for Marvel to make even more money.
