After a one-day delay from its original schedule, the third and last RC (Release Candidate) build of the anticipated Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 operating system was announced by Philip Müller in the last minutes of September 16, 2015.

Still powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.1 kernel and built around the lightweight and highly customizable Xfce 4.12 desktop environment, Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 Release Candidate 3 is here to fix last-minute bugs, as well as to update several core components and applications to their latest versions as of September 15, 2015.

As mentioned in the announcement for Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 RC2, the distribution uses Linux kernel 4.1 LTS to provide its users with long-term viability, the best hardware support ever, and some of the most modern features and technologies. The Manjaro devs will track the development of Linux kernel 4.1 of the entire cycle of the OS.

Moreover, the third Release Candidate build of Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 ships with improved versions of the command-line installer, as well as the Thus graphical installer, and introduces the next-generation Calamares graphical installer as an alternative to Thus. The beautiful Menda theme has been updated as well in this release.

"Relative to the last installation media release, our tools have been improved and polished. We also updated Calamares, our secondary graphical installer we hope to use in our next stable release of Manjaro after this one," says Philip Müller. "We hope you enjoy this release."

There's now initial support for Linux kernel 4.3

The Manjaro Linux team is known for offering their users the latest GNU/Linux technologies, so as part of the introduction of Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 RC3, they announced the initial support for Linux kernel 4.3, which is currently in development with a first Release Candidate build seeded to testers worldwide this past weekend.

As usual, anyone can download Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 Release Candidate 3 and take the operating system for a test drive, in order to report bugs. We remind you that this is a pre-release version of the OS, which includes unresolved issues. Thus, we don't recommend it for production systems. Also, Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 RC3 is out as well!
