After announcing the release of the Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 RC1 distribution, Philip Müller comes with some more great news, this time for KDE fans, as the first Release Candidate build of the upcoming Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 operating system has been seeded to testers worldwide earlier today, September 3, 2015.

Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 RC1 uses the same internals as Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 RC1, especially the Linux 4.1 LTS kernel package, which offer long-term viability while supporting all the modern hardware components, but it is built on top of the latest and greatest KDE Plasma 5.4 desktop environment and KDE Applications 15.08 software collection.

"Our KDE edition continues to deliver this powerful, mature and feature-rich desktop environment with a unique look-and-feel, and with the perks of Manjaro's latest tools. We ship now Plasma 5.4 desktop in combination with the latest KDE-Apps 15.08. It was a huge step to get all playing together smoothly to give the user experience the same feeling as we did with our KDE4 editions in the past," says Philip Müller.

Manjaro Settings Manager has been integrated in KDE Plasma's System Settings

Besides the addition of the latest KDE technologies and all the features that we've already mentioned in the announcement for the first RC build of Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09, Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 Release Candidate 1 adds a custom KCM (KDE Control Module) module to seamlessly integrate the Manjaro Settings Manager utility into KDE Plasma's System Settings, and updates the Maia theme with a slick icon theme.

As usual, those of you who want to take this first RC build of the forthcoming Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 operating system for a test drive can download the Live DVD ISO images for 64-bit and 32-bit computers right now from Softpedia. However, we're informing you that it is a pre-release version, which means that it's not ready for deployment on production environments where stability is of the essence.
